Terms of Service

These terms explain the rules for using BoxVitals accounts, licenses, apps, web monitor tools, scenarios, and related services.

1. Acceptance

By creating an account, activating a license, purchasing access, or using BoxVitals, you agree to these Terms of Service. If you are using BoxVitals for an organization, you represent that you have authority to use the service on that organization's behalf.

2. Training Use Only

BoxVitals is for simulation, education, and training only. It is not a medical device, patient monitor, diagnostic product, clinical decision support tool, or emergency response system.

Do not use BoxVitals for real patient care, patient monitoring, diagnosis, treatment decisions, or any situation where a real clinical device is required.

3. Accounts

You are responsible for keeping your account credentials secure and for activity under your account. You agree to provide accurate account and license information and to notify us if you believe your account has been accessed without permission.

4. Licenses and Trials

BoxVitals access may be provided through individual subscriptions, institution licenses, trial keys, promotional access, or other plans we make available. License features, device limits, renewal terms, and expiration dates may vary by plan.

Trial access is temporary and may be limited, changed, or ended at any time. Institution licenses may be managed by designated admins.

5. Payments and Refunds

Website purchases are processed by Stripe. Apple in-app purchases are processed by Apple. Their payment, renewal, cancellation, tax, and refund terms may apply in addition to these terms.

Current rates are shown on boxvitals.com and may change for future purchases or renewals as permitted by the payment provider and applicable law.

6. Devices and Activation

Licenses may limit the number of active devices. Admins or support may reset device activations when needed for device replacement, troubleshooting, or account management.

7. Scenarios and User Content

You are responsible for scenarios, labels, notes, and other content you create in BoxVitals. Do not enter real patient information, protected health information, or confidential information that does not belong in a training tool.

You grant BoxVitals the limited permission needed to store, sync, display, and process your scenarios and related content so the product can function.

8. Acceptable Use

You agree not to:

  • Use BoxVitals for real patient care or emergency operations.
  • Attempt to bypass license, security, account, or device limits.
  • Interfere with the service or overload hosted systems.
  • Reverse engineer, copy, or redistribute BoxVitals except where allowed by law.
  • Use the service to store unlawful, harmful, or patient-identifiable content.

9. Web Monitor and Connectivity

BoxVitals includes local device pairing and web-based monitor tools. Network conditions, browser behavior, local permissions, Wi-Fi, Bluetooth, internet access, and third-party hosting providers can affect connection reliability and timing.

The web monitor may have brief delays. For the most responsive classroom experience, use the BoxVitals iOS app when available.

10. Availability

We work to keep BoxVitals reliable, but we do not guarantee that the service will be uninterrupted, error-free, or available at all times. Features may change as the product develops.

11. Intellectual Property

BoxVitals, including the app, website, monitor designs, software, graphics, branding, and related materials, is owned by OC Medic LLC or its licensors. These terms do not transfer ownership of BoxVitals to you.

12. Privacy

Our Privacy Policy explains how we collect, use, and protect information related to accounts, licenses, devices, diagnostics, and web services.

13. Disclaimers

BoxVitals is provided "as is" and "as available." To the fullest extent permitted by law, OC Medic LLC disclaims warranties of merchantability, fitness for a particular purpose, non-infringement, and uninterrupted or error-free operation.

14. Limitation of Liability

To the fullest extent permitted by law, OC Medic LLC will not be liable for indirect, incidental, special, consequential, exemplary, or punitive damages, or for lost profits, lost data, business interruption, or training disruption arising from use of BoxVitals.

15. Suspension or Termination

We may suspend or terminate access if an account violates these terms, creates security risk, abuses hosted services, or uses BoxVitals outside its intended simulation and training purpose.

16. Changes to These Terms

We may update these terms as BoxVitals changes. The updated version will be posted on this page with a new effective date. Continued use after changes means you accept the updated terms.

17. Governing Law

These terms are governed by the laws of the State of California, without regard to conflict of law rules, except where applicable law requires otherwise.

18. Contact
